Hello to everyone! I hope everyone is staying inside quilting and staying cool. Real hot temperatures are really good for the quilt shop business because it too hot to do anything outside of the air conditioning! So I'm not complaining too much about the weather! A good rain would sure help the water bills!

A new class is about to begin in Seventh Heaven. Dian Lamb will be offering Creative Expressions on the fourth Saturday most months beginning in July. This will include, but not limited to, the following techniques: Blind drawing, Notans, free motion stitching, Tyvek & Angelina fibers, 3-D appliqué, padded people, (I have my padding already) couching, thread painting, felting, dryer lint, (did she say dryer lint?) cut work, sewing on water solubles, self portrait and many more interesting ideas. Dian is a very talented lady and knows how to lead you to do these techniques. You do not have to be an artist or know anything about any of these things! She has taught in shops for 30 years and knows her stuff! Check the schedule for times and dates for the first several sessions. If you are interested in Art Quilting, this is the class for you. You will need to sign up for each session - more details on schedule of classes page. (Many of the supplies will be included; you bring your own dryer lint!)

Victory Garden is the name of our new Book Club featuring the Victory Quilts book from Eleanor Burns. The new Book Club begins in October. You must buy the book from Seventh Heaven and attend one of five sessions on the second Thursday or Second Saturday each month where you will receive your fabric FREE to make that month's block. If you made the block from the previous month and bring it to one of the sessions your next block fabric is FREE. Not attending one of the 5 sessions or not having your finished block to show will cost you $5 which is donated to a charity. Our charity recipient this year has been Threads of Love. You must sign up in the shop before August 15 to begin the quilt in October. We have 125 people participating in the current Book Club and most of them are planning to be in on Victory Garden. We have a lot of fun in the sessions checking out the new notions, gadgets, fabrics and a wonderful show and tell. The sessions last about 45 minutes. Hope to have you join the fun. Do you like a challenge? Well, I have one for you! I have chosen a special Christmas print that I want you to create something special with. Seventh Heaven will give you 1/2 yard of the challenge fabric and ask for a donation for Threads of Love ($5 suggested or any amount you choose). November 1 will be the deadline for turning in your finished quilted project. Anything you want to make is acceptable as long as it is finished! You may add any fabric or embellishments you wish. The projects will be returned to the maker on December 1 in time to be used as a Christmas gift! The items will be displayed for one month so customers will have opportunity to vote on their favorite. The top three winners will received gift certificates for Seventh Heaven. Not only do you have a chance to win a larger GC, each person will be given a $5 gift certificate when you bring in your finished project. So you will get your Challenge Fabric FREE. The special fabric is ready to be picked up as long as quantities last! Put your creative caps on and come on in!
