BASIC QUILT CLASS American Spirit |

If you know nothing but want to learn the wonderful art and
hobby of quilting, this is the class for you. We will start
with rotary cutting, piecing , borders, appliqué, quilting and
finally the binding. Five sessions and you will have the
confidence to try something on your own. $50+supplies. Dixie

BASIC SERGER |

Basic Serger class will be offered by Jan Mueller Friday, Nov.
20, 10:00 am. Jan has 5 years experience as a National
Educator for Tacony Corp. Baby Lock Division. She is very
knowledgeable about all machines, especially the serger. Any
brand of serger is included in the sessions. Things to be
covered in this session are: serger safety; anatomy of the
serger stitch; tips and tricks; using special threads; sergering
curves, corners, making and installing piping and even putting
in a zipper on the serger! This session will be using a
projection system and powerpoint presentation.
January 22, at 10:00 am, Jan will teach a hands on serger class. Cost
of each session will be $15. Please call or come in to

Bring your Baby Lock, Brother or Janome Embroidery Machines to
have fun and learn with Burnell. You will use decorative
stitches on your machine, experiment with embroidery designs,
make projects and just have fun learning to use your wonderful
machines and more. $25 per session+ supplies for that
session. |

Come sew with us. Bring your project, binding a quilt, making
blocks, etc. come do it with friends. Daytime session begins
around 10 am till about 3 pm with time out for lunch at EZ's.
Evening gals gather around 6 till 9pm. We usually order to go
for dinner. Bring something to work on and enjoy other quilters
for a few hours, no teaching, just talking and having fun
together while getting something done on your project. No
charge. |

GONE TO TEXAS

Betsy Chutchian, author of "Gone To Texas" will
teach the quilt "Gone to Texas". The book is a heart
warming book that Betsy researched from her great
grandmother's journal that she began when she and her family
put a sign on their Kentucky home saying "gone to Texas".
Betsy has included much from the journal and quilt patterns
that she believes her great grandmother made from the
descriptions in her writings. The class is already filled
but we are taking names for standby. The books is available
in Seventh Heaven and an enjoyable read as well as several
good quilt patterns and beautiful pictures. $95 + book and
fabric.

Betty Siegle will help you overcome your fear of machine
quilting on your sewing machine. She has much experience and
will share with you her tips and techniques. You will need a
free motion foot on your machine. Bring about a yard of plain
fabric (muslin will do fine), thread, new size 12 needle, Betty
will have batting for you. $15 |

Fons and Porter, Love of Quilting Jan/Feb. 2010 magazine has
a great paper pieced quilt, Page 93. You may make the whole
quilt or make a table runner or wall size. Purchase fabric
for size you want to make. You will learn the technique of
paper piecing in this class and can continue your project on
your own. It's fun! Dixie will be helping you.

Dian Lamb will help you created your favorite pet picture into a
work of thread and paint art. A preliminary class will be help
on May 15, 10-12:00. The actual working class will be May 29,
10-3:00. The results will amaze you! $50 for both days. Bring
a sack lunch the second day and have fun recreating your pet's
portrait. |

PILLOW CASE CHALLENGE |

Free The fifth Friday of each month will be set aside to
gather in the Seventh Heaven class room and make pillow cases
for our challenge. We have had 240 turned in so far, 200 have
been delivered to 3 Ronald McDonald Houses in San Antonio in
December. We need to deliver more this spring. You may bring
your own fabrics or purchase kits for $10. Bring your machines,
sack lunch and have fun making pillow cases! |

Radio Flyer This quilt looks quite difficult, but it is not.
The design will work well for any style of fabric, including
floral prints, batiks, plaids and reproduction fabrics.
Remember all those fat quarters you have been collecting? Put
them in Radio Flyer from Miss Rosie's Quilt Co., and have a
wonderful quilt. Ruby Young will help you get started on you
quilt. Make it any size you like, the pattern is shown as 71" x

patient, expert quilter and likes to help people with their

WOOL APPLIQUÉ |

Beth will help you get the hang of wool appliqué on a wool pin
cushion. The kit including the wool and thread and needle will
be $15. The class is free. All you need to bring is a thimble
if you use one and a pair of scissors. |

Class Policies:
You should call or come by the shop to sign for any of the
classes, unless it is an on-going class such as Christmas Club.
Class size is limited. You usually need a supply sheet for what you
need to bring for the class. Every student brings their own
machine, rulers, rotary cutters, etc. or any tool or fabric, book or
pattern needed for that particular class. Please have your name on
all of your supplies. It is not required,
but greatly appreciated, for your supplies to be purchased
from Seventh Heaven. You should have full knowledge of how to use
your machine if one is needed for your class. Usually classes need
at least 4 people for the class to make. Refunds will be given if
the class is cancelled by the shop for any reason. You may cancel
and receive a refund 2 days prior to class. IN CASE OF
SEVERE WEATHER, CALL THE SHOP. WE DO NOT RISK OUR LIFE FOR A QUILT
CLASS! IF AT ALL POSSIBLE GIVE US YOUR WORK OR CELL NUMBER WHERE
YOU CAN BE REACHED DURING THE DAY. We want you to enjoy
your class and will make every effort to ensure this happens,
therefore, we ask that you take cell phone calls out of the
classroom so as not to disturb the other people.
