Hello to everybody!  Yea for the rain.  Even though it occurred during Shop Hop, no one complained!  Shop Hop was a great success for us even with the rain.  We had over 1100 folks through the shop during the 4 days and everyone seemed to be having a great time.  The shop owners are meeting tomorrow to draw for the prize winners and set the date for next year, so you will be informed of these things soon.
 
HOUSTON QUILT SHOW is early this year.  October 15 - October 18, 2009 at the George R. Brown Convention Center, Houston, Texas.  We WILL have chartered buses again.  The one day round trip, leaving Lincoln Heights Shopping Center on East Basse at 6:30 am and returning about 10:00 pm the same day either Thursday, Oct. 15 OR Saturday, Oct. 17, will be the same price as last year, $55.00. You may begin to sign up for the wonderful trip on JULY 1.  Payment will be due at sign up.  Phone reservations will be accepted with payment due within one week.  Cash or check only, no credit card for this event.  Refund in the amount of $50 may be issued IF we can replace your space with another person.  $5 will be retained to cover office expenses.  In past years, our buses are usually filled by the middle of August, so make your reservation early.  Some folks like to go both days allowing two days at the show and avoiding a hotel expense.  The full fee will be necessary for each day.  Beginning July 1, you may call 822-9980 or come in to sign up.
 
BEGINNER FREE MOTION MACHINE QUILTING CLASS this Saturday.  There is still space available for Betty's great class  You may register by phone and receive the list of things to bring.  Betty is a fabulous machine quilter on her home machine and can give you many necessary tips and information to speed you on your way to free motion quilting.
 
One of the demos we enjoyed during Shop Hop was by Brenda on Marti Michell's rulers, patterns and books.  Brenda will be offering several classes on these items in August.  You will hear more about this later.
 
There are a few spaces open for our next Book Club to begin in August.  Check the web site for more info on this.  If you have signed up for Book Club and have not paid for the pattern, please do so as soon as possible so we can have an exact head count.

As most of you know, I have signed a new lease for the shop space, so we are here to stay for 5 years at least!
